Jerusalem March 2024

The Jerusalem March is a traditional and colorful event that takes place every year during the Sukkot holiday. It attracts tens of thousands of participants from Israel and around the world, who join the festive parade through the streets of Jerusalem.

The march events will include three sub-events – a morning march on nature trails, a happening at the Sacker Garden, and a festive parade through the streets of central Jerusalem.

Participants in the colorful march are offered a number of walking routes that pass through the city, and their length is different. Visitors who come to participate in the march can choose between three routes of varying degrees of difficulty: 12 km long, 9 km long, and 4 km long. In the best of tradition, every year there is a festival in the Sacker Garden that includes stages, performances by artists, a stalls fair, and activities for children.

Morning Routes

Route A – For experienced marchers, approximately 10 km (starting at 07:00-09:00). Taking off from Mitzpe Rotem (Gilo neighborhood) – Harbat Erza – Nahal Kos – Nahal Refaim Park – Train Track Park – Elmaliach Park  – Gazelle Valley – Nayot – Valley of the Cross – Sacker Garden.

Route B – Medium difficulty level, About 8 kilometers (starting at 07:30-09:30). Taking off from Nahal Refaim Park and joining the walkers of Route A.

Route C – Easy/Family difficulty level, About 5 kilometers (starting at 08:00-10:00). J Taking off from Safra Square – Jaffa Gate – Zion Gate - Habonim Garden – Yemin Moshe – President's House - Rehavia – Valley of the Cross- Sacker Garden.

The March and the Sacker Park Happening

The festive happening at Sacker Park will take place between 10 am - 4 pm: The happening will include live performances, musical acts and kid-favorite artists, as well as a  special compound for entertaining the children with dance performances, an inflatable park, workshops and more.

The main show: Singer and songwriter Dudu Aharon.

The preparation for the march itself will begin at 14:00 on Sderot Ben Zvi Street. The march will be attended by representative groups from Israel and abroad, marching bands, IDF soldiers, flag bearers, street artists, dance troupes and more. It’ll start off at 15:00 from Bezalel Street, Hillel Street, King David and finish at the First Station Complex.
