Gerard Behar Center is a cultural center on Bezalel Street that offers a host of activities, performances, classes for children and adults, theater, music, entertainment and dance, and houses a large municipal library. The Center has two halls, one of which seats 650 people and another that seats 170.

The Center is home to two acclaimed dance troupes, Kolben Dance Co and Vertigo, who are well regarded locally and internationally. Gerard Behar hosts independent productions as well as collaborations with other bodies such as the “hot jazz series”, which mixes up jazz, salsa, classical, vocal, latin, afro-cuban and Jewish music.

Gerard Behar Center host series by the Israeli Opera – Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center and in summer offers an outdoor Kabbalat Shabbat concert on Friday afternoons. The Center is also well known for the colorful mural painted on the side of the building on Bezalel Street that depicts landmarks of the world’s greatest cities.
