Hanukkah in Jerusalem

About
Known as the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah is an eight-day holiday that marks the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. Jews light a menorah (also known as a Hanukia) for eight nights with one additional light for each night of the holiday. The tradition is to eat oily foods in honor of the oil used by the Jewish High Priest in the temple days.
It's truly exciting to celebrate the holiday of Hanukkah in Jerusalem, with Hanukkah lights lining the streets and the shops are filled with a huge selection of delicious doughnuts.
There are enriching holiday-themed events on offer for all ages, such as Hanukkah Family Fun at the Bible Lands Museum and Pyromania at the Israel Museum. Those on a budget can enjoy the festival as much as anyone by simply attending one of the candle lighting ceremonies throughout the city. The holiday of Hanukkah is a wonderful time to explore the city, and you may enjoy wandering through the winding alleys of the Nachla’ot neighbourhood adjoining Mahane Yehuda market or the ancient small streets of the Old City.
