This hotel is well situated and within walking distance of the Old City, Machaneh Yehuda market, many restaurants and shops and public transport. Some, but not all of the staff were helpful and friendly. The main drawback was that our duplex apartment was extremely noisy until the early hours of the morning, both from street noise and from noise inside the hotel itself. The apartment we stayed in had a strange layout with a living area and a single bed as you walk in and the bedroom, wardrobes and very small bathroom down a steep and narrow metal spiral staircase. It would be dangerous to attempt carrying a suitcase down this staircase and we found the layout really awkward. All in all, this hotel may suit young travelers who aren't too fussy, but we would not return to it, mainly due to the noise.

I’ll start with the few good things about this hotel which are its location and walking proximity to many of the highlights. Unfortunately the bad things outweigh the good. parking issue. The hotel does not have its own parking and therefore when we called in prior to arrival they referred us to a parking lot within 100m of the site. ( on Hillel street) unfortunately they forgot to mention that the parking lot closes down on Friday at 3:30pm only to re-open late at night on Saturday. We almost got stuck without access to our car. When I told the lady at the desk that was the case she apologized and said that it was a mistake and that usually they recommend a different parking lot. I explained that it would be helpful if they gave people a written notice ahead of time. We reached our room that was facing King George St. only to find out that the sliding doors to the Juliette porch were non-insulated. Since this is a very busy street you get a significant amount of noise in the room. There was drilling in a near job site which made it very uncomfortable staying in the room. I called the desk again and was told that this noise should subside by the evening and if not they would relocate us to a different room. We went out touring Jerusalem and when we were back at 10:30 PM it was quiet. We all fell asleep only to be woken up at 1:00 am when our next door neighbors decided to have a party. They put loud music on invited guests from outside of the hotel. were drinking and screaming. Since the doors to the room were interior doors versus real insulated exterior doors it was as if we were taking part of the party. At 3:30 AM when the noise was unbearable I called the desk again and asked that they come and deal with this. They sent someone who broke up the party and sent everyone home. 15 minutes later the party resumed full blast. Way too many people for a hotel room. When I complained in the morning to yet another girl at the desk, she told me she knew nothing about this, and that I should have called and complained again after the party resumed. I explained that as an exhausted guest i feel that it’s not my responsibility to make sure in the middle of the night that the hotel is not flooded with teenagers hosting parties and that once I told them about this I figured they will take care of it. She replied they can’t really hear what’s going on in that section since it’s detached from the main building and therefore have no idea what’s going on. This annoyed me even more because the detached building had a security door with a four digit code that only guests were given and because of the party the door was left open sacrificing our security. All this happening without the people at the desk having the slightest idea. I have asked to speak to a manager about this and was told that the manager is away and I won’t be available till Monday. They assured me that once he’s back he’ll call to discuss but up till this day I have not heard back from anyone. To sum up, we had a very bad experience with the hotel and dealing with the people at the desk. Each time it was a different person. they were never passing on my messages and I just felt that they could care less if we’re getting any sleep. Do yourself a favor and go to different place.

We initially had a room over the lobby, and when we mentioned we found it noisy we were immediately moved to a quieter room. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the room and public area were always clean. A good supply of beverages, clean towels daily and replenishment of toiletries. The location is ideal, within a few minutes walk of all amenities. We will definitely be back.
