Stayed here for four nights in June this year. I was lucky to get the booking, so was placed in a hard to reach room, but the advantage of this was that it was quiet. The rooms are clean and simple. The reception staff are lovely. The curfew was a slight issue I wasn't aware of, which forced me to miss out on an event I was meant to go to - so be aware of that. I'm sure if I'd asked, they'd have tried to accommodate. As a solo traveller, I enjoyed being able to sit down and have conversation with other travellers at night. The meals are simple but tasty. I was surprised someone mentioned servings were small - we found them adequate (but he may have been a heartier eater). I enjoyed talking with some lovely French visitors, who graciously spoke English while I was at the table, very kind of them. All round it was a good experience and I would stay there again, if I could get in! Note - if you have luggage, it can be hard to get to the accommodation with it, as there are SO many stairs both inside the Old City to get to the hotel and then in the convent itself. But, once you're inside it'll all be fine. Again, there are probably ways around it (e.g. I noticed lots of little buggies zipping around the old city that may be able to help get your luggage get there - check with the convent if this might be a problem for you). The Lion Gate is the closest to the Convent and is accessible by taxis.

Cols soft drinks were available & were expensive.

This convent offers rooms and meals. Breakfast and dinner. The beauty of this place is that besides it has three levels where you can see almost all places of interest, it provides an athmosphere of home. They have everything one can avail of including clothesline to dry your hand wash laundry. Their food is healthy as they are always fresh. They have two terraces where you can meditate or socialize . From here, everything is walking distance to the golden dome mosque , to Holy Sepulcher , the wailing wall, all the quarters, the Muslim, Christian , Jews and Orthodox .
