Good location in East Jerusalem, great view of the city. Sometimes a little noisy with nearby streets, but understandably so. Staff was friendly and helpful. 11:00 is annoying, but I managed to never run into it (most of the city shuts down pretty early). Wanted to update that the wifi now reaches all around the convent, including in the rooms, and is plenty fast. Also, avoid the laundry service at the desk, it's extremely expensive (make sure they take you to an outside service or find somewhere else to go on your own). Only food experience was breakfast, which was ok but doesn't have a ton of options (cereal, granola, yogurt, jam, bread, cheese, salad, very rarely meat). Tour groups will come through and get in the way a little bit in the middle of the day.

My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights and it was the ideal place to stay: 1) it is in the heart of the old city, so very near interesting places and quiet (apart of cause from the call to prayer which is just what you expect in the Middle East); 2) the building is uniquely historic. Yes, you may feel, on first being shown your room, that you should have al=sked for a string to guide you back again, but it wasn't that confusing and the place has a unique character. The room itself was comfortable and spacious with a good bathroom and hot water. 3) the hotel has a stunning terrace from where you can ook over the Jerusalem skyline, enjoy the sunset AND have unlimited tea and coffee. ... The breakfst was good too!

Ecce Homo Convent is a Pilgrim House. Its position in the Old City is so convenient. It is a short walk to all the major sites in the Old City of Jerusalem. Local coffee with cardamon was found at a tiny coffee shop about twenty steps from Ecce Homo (to the right) which was decked out as a Bedouin Tent. Just exquisite. The Souk Market was truly wonderful and many kinds of different treasures can be found. It is my favourite place to visit in the world.
