I stayed at this hotel for three nights while visiting Jerusalem. The location of the hotel is very central. You walk out your door and you have plenty of restaurants and shopping. There's a convenience store across the street where you can buy beer/wine. Walking to the old city takes about ten minutes. You're walking on city streets so it doesn't seem far at all. A tram station is a five minute walk away. It was easy for my taxi to locate the hotel and it was easy to get a taxi out of the area. This hotel was a very convenient location for me to explore Jerusalem and then return at night and have restaurant options right outside my door. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. They arranged a taxi/guide for me to go to Bethlehem. The room was clean and modern. The shower had good water pressure. The bed was comfortable and I had good sleep while staying here. Breakfast was very good and diverse. I would stay here again and I would recommend Eyal Hotel to friends/family.

We stayed here as part of a tour. Hotel rooms nice but small. Front desk nice and their buffet dinners were not as good as our other stays but were still nice. Great location if you don’t open your window (streets supper noisy) My big beef with them was the A/C. With 4 people in a tiny room our room became super stuffy and hot. We put on the A/C and it blew hot air. I called down to the front desk and they said only hot air because their A/C only had one setting: hot or cold. Since it was on the cooler side outside they had it set on heat so therefore I could only put on a heater. Because of this I had to open our window. It was SO loud my 2 year old woke up every time trash cans were banged around or people were yelling and he usually sleeps through everything. Eventually I closed the window and woke up in a sweat every half hour, at which point I would get up, open the door and fan out the room before closing it again. Therefore, I got little to no sleep. So much for a “smart” hotel

As part of a tour we stayed at the Smart hotel Jerusalem. Have to say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had of a hotel ! About 30 of us arrived at around 1 pm for a pre-arranged booking, as it was the sabbath we were told we could not get our rooms until after sunset which is around 6 pm Staff were not at all helpful and we had to advocate strongly to be even able to leave our bags and suitcases there for the four hours! Nor were we told that there was a rooftop area where we could have waited as the lobby was not large enough. After a lot of hassle we did not get our rooms until after 10 pm !!!! Guests were left sitting out in the street literally in the gutter whilst waiting, no one bothered to say that there was an upstairs rooftop place which could’ve been used to wait safely, off the streets, not sitting in the gutter! They also watched us get into an elevator without telling us that it did not work properly, leaving us stuck in an elevator and having to press the alarm several times, as we thought we were trapped. When we finally got out and advise reception it was not working she simply shrugged and said ‘yes, it doesn’t work, you should have taken the other one’ despite her watching us into it ! Whilst it is acknowledged it was the sabbath, that is no excuse for rudeness by the reception staff, nor is it an excuse to not get our rooms until after 10pm after waiting 9 hours!!!!!! DO NOT stay there!!!!
