Very nice hotel in a good location

The hotel has a pool that runs for six months (in summer) and a large parking lot compared to the amount of rooms.

Enjoyed our stay with a large group at the Grand Court. Breakfasts in the morning were very good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Location was a quick easy walk to Old Jerusalem. They host many large groups but it never felt overwhelming. They manage their property well.

Customer service non-existent

I don't often give poor reviews because usually the good aspects of a place are enough to redeem it somewhat at least. The Grand Court Hotel would receive 1/5 without the food and room being pretty good. In short, the service was laughable from a hotel claiming to be 4*. The way our group was treated by the staff bordered on disdainful. At best the bar staff were surly, at worst they were dishonest - regularly asking me to pay by card rather than charging the room due to "no record of my details on the system". When I questioned them, they managed to find my details and put it through. During the Sabbath, no explanations were given whatsoever for changes in the services of the hotel. As a group keen to learn about the culture of Jerusalem and the wider region, this was an opportunity for the staff to leave a positive impact on us. Instead they were almost defensive and rude, simply stating time after time "it's Shabbat". I could go on, but I would sooner have stayed in the Jerusalem equivalent of a Travelodge. If you want a pleasant experience, this is not the hotel for you.
