Booked this hotel as near Old City and seemed convenient location. Turned out our guess was correct. Now the hotel is in an Arabic area of Jerusalem. Nothing against this, but means that all the shopping is in the more Jewish areas. The shops nearby were more market type stalls and lots of Shawma and falafel stalls to eat. Which was fine for us. The hotel was clean. Rooms sizeable. It does need some work doing on it as it does look tired (there was a bit of plaster off the wall in our room (127). However it does look like they are in process of decorating. The buffet breakfast was ok. Hard to cater for different nationalities and religions without having a load of waste. The restaurant on the 4th floor had a limited menu. Food was ok, nothing special but enjoyable. Cocktails were nice. One thing to note (and found this across Israel no mater the type of restaurant). If you order starter and main course, they will arrive either at same time or when still eating starter. May be different in expensive places, but we didn’t eat in any of those. As mentioned the hotel is great for the old city. If want to travel to the newer parts of Jerusalem, the the light railway is only 15 minutes walk away and will take you towards Central Bus Station and shopping areas on way. Enjoyed our stay in Jerusalem:

It was an ok hotel. The rooms were average, some of the staff seemed to have an attitude, the breakfast was ok, the elevators sometimes worked and when they did it was quicker to take the stairs. The only redeeming qualities were it location to the old city (right across the street from Herod's Gate and a short walk to the Damascus Gate) and the rooftop patio/restaurant this was the icing on the cake the view from it was breathtaking, the food was next to none some of the best Jerusalem has to offer, the staff was very nice and helpful. Honestly, this is the only reason why you should stay here.

We stayed at the hotel for one night, the hotel is a basic two-three stars hotel. the bedrooms need serious renovation ( clothing cabins doors are falling apart , dirty windows that should be cleaned more frequently). Bathrooms are renovated bu too small, breakfast is continental basic. The staff was friendly and very helpful in helping us get to the old city , they even extended our usage of the hotel room after checking out and using the free parking.
