I’ll start off with the only positive about this place which is its central location to all the famous landmarks and that’s where it ends. Upon checking in, we were handed our keys and sent down to one of the basement apartments which is nothing more than a damp, mouldy and cockroach infested hell hole (this was advertised as a “no window room” and not as a basement room) The damp and dusty smell was unbearable and we complained immediately to the young hostess on duty as my partner battles with allergies. We asked for a transfer to another room and we were told that there was nothing that could be done because they were fully booked in all three hotels under the Jonathan Chain umbrella. Later that evening, we had no hot water to shower. We had to track down our welcoming email for a contact number as there is no reception desk after-hours (the “reception desk” is nothing more than a table and chair randomly placed in the entrance hallway) What was even more frustrating was that the contact numbers which were listed on the welcome email went unanswered and the phone rang endlessly. We waited patiently (albeit unshowered) until the next morning when another gentleman reported for reception duty. We were told that there is a switch which needs to be switched on in order to activate the hot water. None of this was explained to us upfront when checking in and as such, we were none the wiser. We complained to this gentleman that we were were unhappy with the room conditions only to be met with the same answer that they were fully booked and there is nothing further that could be done to accommodate a room change. Instead he asked us if he should send someone to clean the room and our response to this was that cleaning was not going to resolve the damp/mould problem nor the cockroach issue. Eventually we ended up buying a strong air freshener which we sprayed before entering the room to make the damp smell more bearable. Long story short, we checked out of this hotel a day early and were not offered a refund. We found somewhere else to stay for the same price with much higher standards. We consider ourselves seasoned travelers and this is by far our worst experience to date and didnt make a very good first impression of Jerusalem. What was even more disappointing was that no one at the establishment seemed phased by the complaints which suggests that they couldn’t care less about the well being of their guests.

We were very happy to be so close from Mahane Yehuda, Ben Yehuda ans the would city...all of the Walking distance. The suite was very large (except the bathroom), and confortable. Recomended for familles.

Staff was great!

The staff was great--the hotel was not. It is almost impossible to find--at the end of a dirty alley off of a street closed to traffic. After dragging suitcases for 3 blocks, we found ourselves on the 3rd floor with no elevator--the young man at reception carried our suitcases up to the room. The room was not quite as advertised--it was in need of a makeover. The smaller bathroom was like an airline toilet with a shower. The bigger bathroom had a moveable sink--it wasn't attached to the wall or vanity. The freezer had food from the last guest.
