Stayed here for 5 nights last week with my friends. There were 3 of us altogether and we were places in the second floor. The downside of this hotel is the size of the lobby which is really small and there is only one lift in the building, which could it fit three persons. Fortunately we were staying on the second floor, which means we could easily take the stairs. Room wise was quite satisfactory for three individuals. The hotel is quite old but its location, which is the closest to Al Aqsa Mosque makes this hotel a gem for Muslim visitors as most of us are here to visit the mosque and pray there five times daily during the short stay. The closest gate leading to Al Aqsa Mosque from this hotel is the Herod's gate, which is only about 60-80 metres. The nearest tram station, Damascus Gate station is only about ten minutes away by foot. There's a number of convenient stores nearby -Al Samman store selling various types of nuts and a small shop selling coffee beans and herbs. The staffare friendly and ready to help. Overall, I would recommend this place if you don't mind staying in a small and old hotel.

I've spent 6 days in this hotel with a friend and it was good. We were not worried about a fancy hotel as we spent most of the day outside walking and exploring the city. Despite this, the hotel staff was super friendly and helpful and the modest breakfast served was good.

I recommend to stay away from this hotel

I booked a double room. When we arrived we were given a single room. When asked at the reception to solve the problem, at first one of the men there joked that one bed was stolen, which was not funny, because the reception obviously already knew the situation and probably hoped that we would accept a single room for two persons, which, if that's the case, is very unprofessional. Then the receptionist moved us to a hotel across the street (Rivoli Hotel). The room that was given to us in the other hotel was in a terrible state. So, to make long story short, most of the promised services that the hotel obligated to provide, were not fulfilled. After the trip I tried to contact the hotel regarding the refund but so far they haven't replied. I strongly advise to stay away from this hotel! Or at least if you are asked to move to another hotel, ensure somehow that you get a satisfactory room.
