After booking, I received an email from management telling me that rooms without AC will be supplied with fans. This is not an acceptable disclaimer. Do NOT book a room without AC in the summer. If they have none available, move on. In spite of the fan, my closet-sized room was way too hot and stuffy to sleep in. Refusing to refund or even discount the fee for that night, management instead moved me to an air-conditioned room the following night, which meant moving someone's reservation to a room without AC. Fact is, they shouldn't be booking those rooms at all and if they cared, they wouldn't. I have a high tolerance for heat, and even I couldn't take it.

It was great to stay in the heart of old city Jerusalem and be so quiet. Perfect location, nice view from the terrace on the city, very nice garden which we did not take time to enjoy, this is a very good place to stay in Jerusalem. The staff was helpful to indicate place to eat and send our postcards. Breakfast was good enough, ideally I wish it had been served in the garden but I guess it'd be too complicated for the kitchen. Only drawback is that wifi is not always available when we're in the room, but we were warned when we checked in.

Great place to stay! Perfect location, in the heart of the Old City, close to where all 4 quarters met. Loved the garden area, with access to roof top promenade. Early morning and late afternoon/evening, after all the tour groups had left, we felt like we were citizens, not visitors. We would wander around, watching people in their daily lives, opening shops, going to school, playing in the streets. Rooms were basic, clean, comfortable. Breakfast buffet was always the same, but had plenty of variety. Free WiFi in lobby area only. Arrival/dept. tip: Don't walk down David St. to get to guest house. Use Maronite Convent Rd., which starts directly across from entrance to Tower of David. It's a little alley that starts next to Christian Information Center, goes by a small souvenir shop, across a tiny square usually filled with motorcycles and then continues winding all the way to St. Marks Rd. Turn right and continue up road until you come to Lutheran Guest House on left side. This way has no hordes of people to plow through or hundreds of stairs to descend. There are steps, but also wide ramps to roll your suitcase on. So, so much easier that busy, busy David St.!
