We were travelling as a family and had 3 rooms for 4 nights. The hotel itself is beautiful, spacious, modern and trendy. We stayed in the most basic rooms, the studios, and even those were great, functional, with sufficient storage space and comfortable beds. We love the transparent glass between the room and the bathroom, it gives light and a sense of space. The bathrooms were very modern and with a beautiful bathtub. The location itself cannot be beaten, next to the Mamilla Mall and just steps away from the old town, with easy access to the tram. Thanks to this we could explore both old and new city on foot, take the tram to the holocaust museum and also go on foot to catch the bus to Bethlehem. Perfect. Things go downhill when it comes to service, unfortunately. Personnel seemed unprofessional or untrained (with the exception of the Rooftop restaurant where it was excellent). Every small thing we asked for did not work: a light in the room to be repaired, we had to call 4 times; a restaurant reservation, we arrived and was not booked; advice on how to move around the city or go Bethelehem, outdated (better check tripadvisor); no info on sites opening times or even if they were open at all! We used the parking for 2 days… instructions are far from clear in English, plus when you check-in you have no card to get in and they would not let you in… so we had to wait for another guest to let us in (thanks god we look trustworthy enough). To get out, they have a system where the machine read the plates to open the gate… of course they forgot to register us… it took us 3 attempts and 45 minutes for them to understand the issue. Not what you expect on vacation and from 5* hotel. We also organized our transfer to Tel Aviv with them, weeks in advance and pre-paid, driver did not show up…. They had to start calling but they did not seem too apologetic (I thank the Argentinian guy at the front door –whose name I forgot- for being the only one who cared and managed to sort it out). So, if you are expecting Mamilla to organize transfer to the airport… maybe do it through a third party or you risk missing the plane. Finally, breakfast itself was very good in terms of quality and choice. However…. Bad service. Impossible to get anything without asking several times and getting a grin with it. They also have a strange deposit policy, for us they blocked 2’000 USD for the 3 rooms as deposit for the 4 nights (which were already prepaid in B&B). I do not personally have an issue with that, but many people prefer to travel with card with relatively low limit in case they get stolen… so it may become a problem. I insisted on the reason so that I could report it on here and I was told that the policy was to block 200 USD per room per night and that they were blocking a bit less for us… Mmmmm…. It seems exaggerated for a city hotel unless you are planning to destroy the room. On the other hand, housekeeping was excellent (and they were friendly enough and knew how to smile when you crossed them). All in all, I would still recommend this hotel because of the rooms, location and housekeeping (hence the rating of 4). But we were all disappointed with the rest of the service to the point where I wonder if the people working for the hotel know that the guests are clients and that clients expect service and in a kind way and with a smile.

I was so impressed with Rosaline in the dinning room. She made me feel right at home and was knowledgeable of any questions asked. I feel so thankful and privileged to have met such a wonderful young lady. She even took her precious time to show my friend and I around the old city. Also Lara Anis where so warm and friendly. I felt their hearts truly care about people. Mamilla Hotel is blessed to have them!

If you would like to stay in Western Jerusalem yet near the old city, this is the finest option. Perfect for business meetings but also due to location possible to find the time to see some of Jerusalem. Near many good restaurants and Mamilla street, the main shopping street in Jerusalem. Great lobby when colleagues were meeting up. Excellent helpful staff. A plus was it also served as the pick up place for my sunrise tour to Masada.

The hotel clean and looks good. Going to spa in cold weather is not recommended since the spa is not in the hotel but in a near building with bridge connecting them. Breakfast was very rich. Regarding service we needed to ask twice for small things like adding crib to the room, fixing the toilet and kettle. It is must to say that after the second time they called to verify that the problem solved.
