Excelent hummus and falafels with great views of the city of Jerusalem. Coffee is excellent but if you don't fancy the walk get an arab bus up there. its worth it for the views. The walk back down to the Kidron valley is easy

About the Mount of Olives Hotel
It may not be the fanciest in Jerusalem, but the Mount of Olives Hotel certainly has one of the best views in the city. Situated on the summit of the Mount of Olives, the family-run hotel overlooks the entire Old City from the Kidron Valley outward.
For centuries, the building has served as a hostelry to the adjoining Church of the Ascension and is mere walking distance from many other holy sites including the Chapel of Ascension, the Garden of Gethsemane and Dominus Flevit.
The building was renovated in 1960 and now includes 54 homey rooms, some of which afford a breathtaking view of the Old City. Still, part of building dates much further back, and it’s worth noting that at the far end of the building, just above the door to the kitchen, is one of the oldest surviving carvings of the pagan deity Baphomet.
The Mount of Olives Hotel offers free WiFi and a complimentary breakfast.

The deserts went on forever. Very modern hotel with clean rooms and a friendly staff. It was very quiet at night and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay. They advertise a blow dryer but it is unlike any I have ever seen and barely blows. I highly recommend taking your own blow dryer with a converter and adaptor. We would definitely return.

MoreThe staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms may visually appear a little different than Americans are used to, but they are kept clean and neat. The rooms were maintained daily during our stay. We saw signs that the hotel was updating their beds and furniture. The food was excellent - a Palestinian breakfast every day consisting of yogurt, hummus, fresh vegetables, picked vegetables, cheeses, and breads. The chef will make an omelet at your request for no additional charge. The location offers an amazing panoramic view of Jerusalem. Cable television is available, but there is not much to view for English speakers. You don't want to spend your time in front of the TV anyway - be out in the city! The front desk assisted us with arranging drivers and orienting us to the city. If you are a bit adventurous and open-minded, I would definitely recommend a stay here!
