MoreThis hotel was utterly appalling. First, the floor in the room had clearly not been cleaned and there was detritus (an old towel and a book) on the wet, sodden balcony, as it had snowed the previous day. I had to ask for these things to be taken care of. The beds were extremely narrow: standard bed width is 3 feet (90cm) whilst the beds in the Reich were 2 ft 6 inches (75cm). In addition, although there was a desk in the room, there was no chair. There was no notice of anything in the room; nothing about facilities available nor route to take in case of emergency/fire. This probably contravenes Israeli law. There was neither carpet nor rugs on the floor. Whilst this might be acceptable in summer, it is not so in winter; temperatures in winter can sometimes go below 0 (32F) at night. As a consequence, the inefficient heater did not warm the bedroom whilst the bathroom was unaffected by the heating system. In other words, it was freezing. When we left on the morning of the 21st, I checked under the beds to ensure we had left none of our property behind and it was evident that the floor had still not been properly cleaned. Finally, the Reich has failed an “honesty” test. I left a sweatshirt and a book in one of the drawers, as I no longer needed them. It is interesting to note that the hotel has made no effort to contact me about these items.
