Nice room, nice lounge, good breakfast. Was confused at first by the "Rimonim". Seems to just be called Shalom Hotel Jerusalem. Big red sign on top just says "Shalom." Decent for the price. We had no complaints.

About Shalom Hotel
Shalom Hotel Jerusalem is a bit out of the way for guests whose primary goal is to tour the Old City. It is located in the Bayit Vagan neighborhood, not far from the Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center, Mt. Herzl and the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum. The massive Malcha Mall is only a few minutes away, as is the Biblical Zoo and the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens.
All 287 rooms and suites have undergone extensive renovation and are outfitted with cable TV, a hair dryer and orthopedic beds. Rooms on the upper floors of the high-rise building also afford nice panoramic views of the city. Complimentary breakfast is served in the hotel’s dining hall, which can seat up to 500 people.

MoreA mid-range, somewhat tired hotel. The rooms towards the pool are somewhat larger that the ones to the back. Of course, the higher rooms have better views, we stayed at the 4th floor towards the back, facing the roof of the parking and facing the stairs leading upward to the next street. The hotel was built 1972, and it shows, e.g. stained carpet in the hallway, non-functional safe in the room and a tired bathroom. But it‘s clean and maintenance (bar the safe) seems to be good: other hotels this age are in worse shape. The elevator situation mentioned in other posts didn‘t bother us (it seems like we hit days of low occupancy) and we took the (small) staircase during shabbes anyway. The hotel announced new elevators in the lobby to be coming. We didn‘t eat at the hotel, so cannot comment on that. We did turn on the A/C briefly, but didn‘t like the smell and opened the window instead.

Another thing in the reservation we have told that we're getting room wait view to the pool and instead we got view to a parking lot. Btw look on the window pic they're so dirty.
