We rented a villa here for two weeks and never wanted to leave. The stunning views over the Judea hills with the magnificent gardens all night lit were so romantic. An ideal wedding venue and the daily breakfast basket delivered to our porch was a lovely touch. An amazing infinity pool I would highly recommend this venue for a romantic getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Public transportation was on schedule. We did not need to rent a car.

Hands down, the best thing about this place is the view. It's spectacular. Our room was at the end of the row, just on the edge of the hill - we loved it! There was a small yard on the front with a picnic table and a small grill. It must be perfect in summertime. The room itself was pretty basic. We requested an extra bed for our older son and a baby bed for the younger one and were granted both. We also asked for extra sheets and towels. The service was very friendly and quick. Breakfast is not fancy. You get some rolls, cheese, jam, butter, salad, olives, hard boiled eggs, some spread and orange juice. Since we were there with children we also got cornflakes and chocolate pudding. If you plan to use the rooms for more than sleeping or like to drink something other than orange juice, I suggest stopping at the supermarket or the local store (located about 7 minutes walk from the hotel) and get whatever you like and maybe some fresh milk for coffee. There are TV devices in both the living and bed room but the channel selection is limited. Not that we had too much time to watch TV, but it would have been nice to find some channel for the kids to watch in the mornings. We did, however, find a channel to watch the news in English. Generally, this is a decent hotel in absolutely the most perfect location. Oh, and there are so many cats! Our kids loved it, but if you don't, you should just be prepared.

I joined my extended family for some time in the Jerusalem mountains and enjoyed it. The cabins are simple (even dated) but provide a bedroom, living room and tiny kitchenette. We were booked next to a camping table so could easily host family dinners. This was spoiled a couple of times because of a draft of sewage we could not pinpoint (but I would suspect the obvious, though mysterious huge iron pipe right beside us). The place is within reach of Jerusalem proper (another 10 minutes drive to reach the western reaches) and a 10 minutes ride from the Malcha Mall which is reasonably equipped with food, pharma and shops. As we're traveling with babies, we had a few unusual issues. The baby cribs (lool in hebrew) Shoresh provides are ancient, bent, dirty things. They willingly provided them but we sent them back and used our own camping crib instead. Mosquitoes were suddenly a huge deal as their bites were harsh on the kids. The local pool is fun but not exclusive to the cabins, so you get quite a crowd going on there. Get there early on the weekend and you should have a fairly empty pool to yourselves. The view is great, you get to rest in the fresh air and the place is quiet and peaceful, perfect for a family trip.
