I was staying in the hostel for quite some time. I was looking for somewhere cheap but in a good location. I thought this would be an ideal place to be. I didn't need much just the basic services. As you can infer from my rating it didn't... Firstly, and really the main reason for my disappointment was the cleaning. I stayed for other a week. - no one once cleaned my room. The garbage just mounted up since I was expecting somebody to clean it up. But no. Nothing. When the bin filled I just kind of designated a corner for it. Secondly, the room was far smaller than I imagined, it is actually worse than a prison cell. Crampt. No space for luggage. Thirdly, on the website you can see images of the room overlooking the street. Most rooms do not. Instead they state right outside a dump which is very loud. Additionally that also looks like a prison courtyard... Personally I would not recommend this place even for budget prices the exception might be for those on a short stay who don't care about the room be cleaned.

We arrived to a small old fashioned hostel in the bustling heart of Ben Yehuda St. on Jerusalem where the new light-rail carries passengers to and fro with great ease--- a silver whiz! The hostel was built in 1928, and still bears a few remnants to its initial earlier days. The 24hour staff was very friendly (unusual experience in Israel's Youth Hostels)---and spoke Hebrew as well as English! My husband & I have found that much staff in the Tel Aviv & Jerusalem hostels do not!! There is no elevator---two long and wide staircases which can be taken slowly to the small yet comfortable rooms.Everything is where you need it, albeit in miniature size.A very tall or large person would not feel comfortably suited. I would recommend it for convenient location and most reasonable prices, plus flexibility of occupation time of arrival.

We just completed a three-day at the hostel. It was our first time to Jerusalem. We loved everything about the place -- in particular the location and access to the Old City and the Market -- both within easy walking distance. Try for room 4 with a balcony. It's has a nice view and small sitting area to look out over Jaffa street. The restaurants in the area are also amazing. (there is no laundry "service" but there is a washing machine that you can use on the roof . . small charge)
