Three couples stayed in a three bedroom apartment. The location was good. Very close to the Mahane Yehuda Market and Java Street, plenty of good restaurants nearby. It is a distance from the Old City....about a 45 minute walk or taxi ride. The apartment was clean, beds are comfortable and we liked having a washing machine and dryer. The negatives are that it is not well stocked in the kitchen. No frying pan, etc. and the air conditioner is turned off at night when you're sleeping and need it the most.

This was my second stay at Windows of Jerusalem, the first being in 2013. Jerusalem can be expensive for hotels, and, as always, WOJ provides great value for the money. The apartments are a 3 minute walk to Mahane Yehuda, a few minutes to Ben Yehuda, a 15-20 minute walk or short light rail ride to the Old City. The building has apartments owned by permanent residents and vacation rental apartments. My apartment had everything I needed for a week-plus stay – fridge, oven/stove, laundry machines, toaster-oven, dishes and utensils. Everything worked well. You won’t be in the lap of luxury, but, not needing a full service hotel, I quite enjoy having a kitchen and a sitting area. I did notice the air conditioning is programmed to not work between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. It was unseasonably hot in Jerusalem, and this wasn’t a happy discovery, though not crippling as the apartment manages to not get as hot as you might expect. Wifi worked without a hitch and was fast and didn’t require repeated login as some hotels’ wifi do. Unfortunately, my sleep quality was poor. This apartment on the 13th floor was near a generator or similar machine that ran 24x7, the noise from which it was impossible to shut out. I found myself lying in bed listening to its cycles. This apartment also faced Yafo, and though high up, the light rail and auto sirens and horns could be heard late into the night and beginning every morning. In 2013 my apartment on the 12th floor faced the Old City and it made a huge difference – it had none of the street and generator noise I suffered through this time. If I take two stars away for the noise impairing my sleep, I give an extra star back for WOJ manager Michal’s very good service. Michal is professional, prompt, and friendly. She helped me set up Nesher for after-hours transport to the airport at the end of my trip, and in case anything went wrong, she gave me her cell phone number to call her, though her business day would by then be done. I greatly appreciated that (and did not need to call her, as Nesher arrived, albeit a bit late). I expect to return to Israel and Jerusalem again, and though I’d request that I absolutely don’t get placed on the 13th floor and do get placed facing east rather than north, I will look to WOJ again for my accommodation.

We visited the holy city of Jerusalem on a religious tour and chose to stay in an apartment rather than a hotel and I'm so glad we did. We were part of a larger group who all stayed in the apartments. Points to note 1. Directions and Instructions for getting into the complex is sent to you by email at least a week before your arrival. And was very easy to follow. 2. Location of the apartments is very central and easy to get to. Tram runs right behind it as well. 3. The apartment was very lovely and clean. Nice comfortable beds, good view of the city from the 9th floor where we were. Kitchenette was perfect for us as we were able to prepare our meals and refrigerate. There is a kosher set up available if you need it you just have to ask when booking. 3. We were within a walking distance of the old city so even though it was Shabbat on the day we arrived and everything was shut we were able to walk and experience the old city and it was amazing. We visited so many places I can't even count but most importantly we walked through the paths our Lord Jesus suffered through. It was amazing. We could buy souvenirs on the way as those were being sold by non Jews. 4. Check out is at 10am though so you have to make yourself ready to vacate at the time. There's an extra charge for late departure and also if you open the kosher cupboards when you are a non kosher guest you Will be charged $300 as they have to throw everything away so be mindful. All in all we really loved the apartment and we intend using them again on our next visit to Jerusalem. I totally recommend it!!
