Zion is a small hotel in Jerusalem with 25 rooms .The hotel is located near Jaffa Centre very close Jaffa street. The biggest drawback of the hotel is that it does not have a elevator. If you have heavy bags and are aged then this is just not the place for you. They do not provide any hotel staff to lug your baggage two levels up.At any time of the day after breakfast only one duty manager is available in the hotel. You are only served complementary breakfast in the restaurant.Nothing else. There is a tea/coffee maker in the restaurant as a self service facility.Second big drawback of the hotel is that the cab cannot drop you at hotel entrance because of its location.Again you have to lug your baggage for about 300 yards in rain/ hail/ snow. There are other hotels in vicinity who provide golf carts to guest. Rooms are small but clean.House keeping is good.Breakfast is nice.Duty managers are cordial and helpful in arranging tours to various sightseeing places.Charges are high in Jerusalem.Hotel is very close to old city which is a great advantage. Also lot of eating places within 100 yards of the hotel.Tram station is very near.Old city is walking distance.

The sign downstairs said to ring the bell, but we didn't see the bell. So we waited in the lobby for about 20 minutes till someone came, although there was staff in the kitchen who must have noticed us through the window. When someone finally came out, he said that we'd have to wait until 2 pm to check in. The hotel lobby toilet was out of service, so I asked the clerk if I could pop into an empty bedroom to use the toilet. No. Could he recommend anywhere nearby to go in a hurry? No. After lunch we came back at 1 and we still weren't allowed to check in - I don't know if this was because there really wasn't a room ready, or because the rule was check in is at 2. The hotel didn't seem very busy during our stay. We asked if our luggage would be safe sitting beside the sometimes-unattended front desk in plain view - "yes, probably." I didn't feel very confident so I ended up dragging half my belongings with me sightseeing for the rest of the day, which led to a sore back. We would have cancelled our booking before we checked in, but the website we used didn't allow that. Otherwise the hotel was ok. The rooms were simple and mostly clean. The sheets looked/smelled clean but were stained. The floor was carpeted. There was a lot of water damage on the bathroom ceiling, and some mold. Otherwise the bathroom was clean, but tiny. The hotel looked dated, but not in the charming way it looked from the outside. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet was excellent - lots of delicious, fresh food (but only instant coffee, not real coffee).

We only spent one night here which was fine but this is not a posh establishment. The room was comfortable but very basic. The shower was good but the water leaked everywhere so that the entire bathroom floor became a slip hazard. The inclusive breakfast was nice with a lovely salad selection, fruit and a couple of hot options. The guy on reception when we arrived was lovely. Really helpful and attentive. The hotel itself is not much to write home about but I’ve definitely stayed in worse. The location is pretty good as it’s a lively area with loads of bars and shops and only a 15 minute walk to the old city. If it’s just one night and you’re not looking to impress then this place is cheap and does the job
