Sweets are not considered dessert in the Old City but rather a meal in and of themselves. Cakes, jams, honey, halva and knafe are only a small portion of the many delicacies awaiting you in the streets and alleys of the Old City. At Al-Najah you can purchase a range of traditional local desserts and pastries, some of which are commonly known as "Turkish Delight." They are also known for their Basbousa, a semolina cake with almond, cheese-filled pastries, sweets with almond and honey, and many more delicacies in a variety of flavors and colors.
