International festivals and events
The Jerusalem Cinematheque is located in the upper part of the Sultan Pool and overlooks a breathtaking historical view of Jerusalem's Old City walls. You can find important historical sites and popular tourist attractions near the Cinematheque. The central location and the perfect view create the ideal platform and atmosphere for festivals and cultural events focusing on Israeli and international cinematic work.
Among these events, you can find the Jerusalem International Film Festival, which occurs at the Cinematheque every summer.
This is the largest and most prestigious film celebration in Israel, with the participation of about 70 thousand visitors, hosting hundreds of executives and creators from the film industry in Israel and around the world. The International Jewish Film Festival is another colorful festival that occurs yearly at the Cinematheque during Hanukkah. Every year, this festival hosts about 20 thousand local and international visitors.
