Bnei Mikra Heritage Center is a unique museum dedicated to the Karaite Heritage, located in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem

A fascinating experience exploring the world of the Biblical community of Bnei Mikra. Get familiar with this part of Jerusalem and the Jewish people’s history through a guided tour. Learn about the Karaite Jewish community who is a unique group of Jews who lived in accordance with the word of the Old Testament, the written doctrine of Moses and Israel. The Karaite Jews believe that only the written Torah was given to Moses at Mount Sinai and that its commandments should be upheld as they are, without the additions and interpretations of the Talmud and Gmara. 

During the 45 minute long tour about the Karaite community in Israel and the diaspora, it's unique lifestyle which follows biblical guidelines with no interpretations, and how they managed to preserve it and the Hebrew language since the 8th century

The tour includes:

  • A  video that presents the fascinating and authentic story of the Karaite community. 
  • An exhibition that focuses on the uniqueness of the Karaites, various objects, and more
  • A fascinating visit to an ancient synagogue  where the Karaite Jews pray on carpets and without shoes, and which has preserved its uniqueness for hundreds of years.
