One could easily miss the Smadar Movie Theater on this quiet, suburban, tree-lined street in the beautiful German Colony. The Smadar Movie Theater has one cinema theater, often featuring foreign, off-the-beaten-path films, many of which are in English or have English subtitles. Smadar also has an adjoining bar-cafe-restaurant popular with the artsy crowd and known for its beer on tap and dairy menu (not kosher) - open from early till late.

I stayed next door at The Colony hotel and I went in to order a full fish. They dont have it on the menu but the made the BEST Trout fish in Jerusalem. Excellent. It is best to reserve a table.

If your vising Jerusalem, seeing a movie here in a 'must'. This is cultural Jerusalemite institution. It was saved from cluster closing several times, and who knows until when. There's also a good Italian restaurant on site.
