Jerusalem Theater Building

The theater building is a unique architectural creation designed by architects S. Nadler, M. Nadler, S. Bixson, M. Gil and with the participation of D. Elkon.

The building, dominated by the two elements of stone and concrete, both inside and out, consists of three basic systems:

  • The system of walls that embraces the hill with low, horizontal terraces that rise from the ground to the ceiling of the stage tower.
  • A system of spaces of various sizes.

The system of sculptures outside and inside the theater by artist Yechiel Shemi.

The Jerusalem Theater has been declared a special building for preservation by the Jerusalem Municipality. Backstage tours that combine an architectural and historical overview, a visit to the actors room and control room, ascent to the stages, and more are held frequently for the general public and organized groups.
