After you see the major sites that everyone who comes to Jerusalem must see, you begin to look for the hidden treasures. This is one of them. It is small, four exhibition rooms, but the artifacts go back to the 1300’s; various religious articles, prayer books, Torah arks, etc. The main attraction is a totally reconstructed 1702 synagogue moved from Italy in 1953, it was in a small town outside of Venice and very beautiful with all of it’s engraved wood, etc. As you stand there you think how wondrous it would have been to them to know their sanctuary would one day end up in Jerusalem in an independent Jewish state and that over 300 years later, it would still be in use. The man at the reception desk could not have been more helpful in orienting you to the museum and then setting up the film telling the synagogues story. It was a pleasant way to spend an hour
