ABOUT PEPITO’S

Launched in the spring of 2016, Pepito’s is the brainchild of 3 young immigrants from Venezuela and Colombia who had always felt a burning desire to bring the tastes of Latin American street food to Jerusalem. Thus far, the Pepito’s has been getting rave reviews from locals and travelers alike who are happy to see new tastes arrive in the Mahane Yehuda Market.

WHAT TO EAT

The name of the game is certainly meat at Pepito’s, and you can get various types either stuffed in sandwich bread or wrapped up in a tortilla with veggies and sauces made only from the freshest ingredients int he market. Their signature item is the La Bomba — corned beef, Italian salami, Romanian Salami, an egg, vegetables and potato chips. However, the kosher Cuban-style El Cubanito, La Negra and even the vegetarian version of the La Bomba are certainly worth a try as well. Photos: Courtesy of Pepitos

Incredible food! Had the La Paluda sandwich (burrito) — asado with delicious green salsa. Empanada also very, very good. Food was fast and hot.
