In this new interactive center, visitors will be able to enjoy an enticing tour that combines the old with the new and the past with the present.

The Beit Levi Eshkol Visitor Center is located in the historic building that served as the Prime Minister's residence during the early days of the State of Israel.

The stations spread around the house allow the visitors to explore Levi Eshkol's work and life. The building was built in 1933 by the architect Benjamin Chaikin for Julius Jacobs, a senior British government official. Atypical of Jerusalem, the building was built without stone cladding and with combined design styles. From 1950 to 1974, the building served as the Prime Minister's residence and was lived. Its inhabitants at the time were David Ben-Gurion, Levi Eshkol, and Golda Meir.

The Beit Levi Eshkol Visitor Center continues to serve the role of the house as the Prime Minister's residence, the sense of domesticity and the place's glorious past were restored here. You’re welcome to trot around the house and get to know about the events of the country's first decades, their consequences linger to this very day. The images and interactive stations spread around the house provide an innovative insight into the inception and creation of the State of Israel – through the eyes of the people who led it in its early years.

Levi Eshkol was the leader of the Jewish Agency's settlement enterprises, founded the National Water Company - Mekorot, and served as Finance Minister for 11 years – the longest period in history! During his time as Prime Minister, he led and won the Six-Day War, forged significant ties with the U.S. administration, and promoted a process of reconciliation and unification in Israeli society. The new Visitor Center was established as a joint venture by Yad Levi Eshkol and the Society for the Protection of Nature, being open to the public since 2017. Beit Levi Eshkol offers various tours, extra curriculums, and cultural events for the general public.
