In Mahne Yehuda market a cool shady place is a great escape from the heat hustle and bustle of the market Wonderful beer and great staff add to the atmosphere. Highly recommended
Casino de Paris
Casino de Paris has long been one of, if not, the best spots for a drink in the Mahane Yehuda Market.
Tucked away in a quiet, almost hidden corner known as the Georgian Shuk, it’s hip, but unpretentious with a friendly staff. And there’s no better way to spend your evening than sitting in the courtyard or at the old school bar with a house cocktail and some homemade food, soaking up the shuk vibes.
The history of Casino de Paris stretches back to the British mandate. In the 1930’s it was a famous hotel, casino and officer’s club also called Casino de Paris. When owners Eli Mizrachi and Shaanan Street decided to revive the space in 2011, they decided to keep the name and use it as inspiration to create an atmosphere of elegance mixed with fun, carefree atmosphere of the shuk.
Atmosphere, Drinks and Food
Whether you sit inside at Casino de Paris’ cozy bar or outside under the stars in the quaint courtyard, make sure to check out the special cocktail menu. Bearing clever, historically inspired names like “The Mandate” and “The Middle East,” each house cocktail is infused with a Middle Eastern or Jerusalem twist.
And beer, wine and spirits enthusiasts need not worry. Casino de Paris carries 4 types of beer, an extensive selection of bottled beers from some of Israel’s best craft breweries, 8 wines from the top wineries in Israel and, of course, various whiskeys, rums, tequilas and other liquors.
For those who come on an empty stomach or drink up an appetite, the kitchen puts out a delectable menu with snacks like smoked fish and stuffed grape leaves alongside more substantial dishes like home-made pizza, oven-baked pasta and more.
