Gerard Behar Center
Gerard Behar Center is the cultural home in Jerusalem for independent theater, music and dance productions.
Productions and events
Gerard Behar produces independent shows as well as collaborations such as the Hot Jazz Series which mixes up jazz, salsa, classical, vocal, latin, afro-cuban and Jewish music.
The center also hosts events as part of the Israel Festival and the Jerusalem Arts Festival and school, institution, government office and organization activities.
House troupes
Gerard Behar is home to two acclaimed dance troupes: Kolben Dance Co and Vertigo, both of which are beloved by audiences and well regarded by local and international critics.
Event halls
The Gerard Behar Center has two halls used for events and performances:
The main Gerard Behar Hall seats up to 650 people. It has a lower, main hall area which is wheelchair accessible and a balcony above.
The second hall, the Leo Model Hall, is a multidisciplinary hall that fits up to 176 seats. The hall is wheelchair accessible and the entire floor is PVC, allowing different types of shows, for example conferences, dance parties, dance performances and events with round tables for sitting with space for a performance.
Both halls have complete sound and light systems and dressing rooms.
Box office hours
Weekdays: One hour before a performance and one hour following
Saturday night and the night after a Jewish holiday: From one hour after Shabbat or the holiday is out until start time of the performance
Yerushalmi resident card holders
Card holders receive a 10% discount on performances upon display of card.
