Before it became HaTzvi Yisrael, this Talbiyeh synagogue was known as Komemiyut. After the creation of the state of Israel, the synagogue received a shipment of antique furniture and artifacts from the synagogue in Busseto, Italy, which had been abandoned by its Jewish residents at the end of the 19th century.
The Italian synagogue was guarded vigilantly by a non-Jewish resident of the city until its contents immigrated to Israel, including the ark. HatZvi Yisrael includes several prayer rooms, where services are held at various times of the day.
