This underground church near the foot of the Mount of Olives is the traditional tomb of the Virgin Mary. It is an Orthodox Church and very ornate. The tomb, like that of her Son, is not occupied, since it is believed the Virgin Mary after her death was taken into heaven. One nice thing is that it does not usually seem to be excessively crowded. This holy place is at the bottom of many steps, so take that into account if you have physical limitations.

Mary's Tomb is located inside this Armenian/Greek orthodox church. The tomb and the church are located underground and you need to go down many stairs. It is dark and small, filled with lanterns and incense. There were many tourists and I didn't get a chance to have a quiet moment to pray. Needless to say, it is a sacred place and I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

A great way to start off seeing the Mount of Olives. Next to Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. A good few stairs to walk down with many lanterns to see. One can get very close to the actual burial tomb.
