Approaching the entrance gates of Mini Israel, there is an excitement that one experiences of anticipated surprises. After being greeted by friendly staff, and given a map of the site, one begins their "Israeli" adventure. Preconceived notions that the layout of Mini Israel is relevant to Israel on a map are quickly dispelled as the actual layout is a labyrinth of paths, more in a circular formation than an elongated State. With map in hand, one proceeds to "Explore Israel," which has been divided up into sections; the Galilee, Hula Valley, Jerusalem, etc., with many popular locations. There are quite a few clever displays like the Coca Cola Factory, Tnuva, the Red Sea (where one is treated with an aquatic view with live fish), Yad Vashem, the Safari, railroads and highways, and many more; all of which offer the "traveler" an insight into some of Israel's major sites. Overall, Mini Israel is a nice place to go for a scenic walk, albeit not a cheap one, and my only complaints are that they should spend less on the lavish hotels displayed here and there, and more on actual sites in Israel.

We were a bit disappointed with this trip. First of all, the central bus station local bus lets you off right on the highway. You then walk along the highway for about 15 minutes until you get there. (praying you are walking in the right direction). That was very unsettling. The place itself is a bit rundown. The miniatures are cute. But I don't think I'd do this again. The bus stop back is (thankfully) right in front of the site. We also felt that it was missing many ancient models that could have and should have been there. While focusing too much on present day miniatures. This is Israel after all...
