My husband and I traveled to Jerusalem for his work in late May. The organization put us up at the Mishkenot Guest House and we found our accommodations to be excellent. Perfect location for visiting the Old City and newer parts of modern Jerusalem. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very well appointed, including separate office area within our room. The Guest House is not a typical hotel so does not have hotel amenities such as pool or gym, but we spent so much time sightseeing these weren't missed. Breakfast was very good, too, and kosher for anyone who needs to know. We absolutely recommend Mishkenot Sha'ananim.

The location is excellent for walking and near the old city.

Mishkenot Sha'ananim is a Jewish neighbourhood built just east of the Old City. It was the first Jewish settlement beyond the Old City walls when it was constructed in 1860. Like much of Jerusalem, there have been some turbulent times at Mishkenot Sha'ananim, today it seems like a nice place and is quite attractive. The sandstone homes are lined with shrubs, plants and many flowers, making the neighbourhood colourful and lovely to see at this time of year. We found the neighbourhood to be a nice area for a stroll after visiting the nearby Bloomfield Garden and other area attractions nearby. Views from this area across the valley to the Old City, Mount Zion and Mount of Olives are very good as well.
