Mitzpeh Yair (Yair Lookout) - Ramat Rachel

Mitzpeh Yair (Yair Lookout) - Ramat Rachel

Mitzpeh Yair (Yair Lookout) is a marvelous viewpoint overlooking the mountains of Jerusalem, the city of Jerusalem and the surrounding villages. This observation point was designed by sculptor Ran Morin and it is built in a round shape decorated by hewn stones with a beautiful and strong Oak tree in the center. Yair Lookout is located nearby the Archeological Garden in Kibbutz Ramat Rachel. The site is open during all hours of the day and all days of the week.

Mitzpe Yair was built as a memorial site in to honor the death of Yair Angel who was killed in 1996 during his military service in Shayetet 13. Yair was the grandson of two of the founders of Kibbutz Ramat Rachel.
