Ticho House Museum
Ticho House is a historic home in downtown Jerusalem, one of the first to be built outside the Old City walls towards the end of the 19th century. Its first resident was Aga Rashid Nashishibi, an affluent member of Jerusalem’s Arab community. In 1924, the house was bought by Avraham Albert Ticho, an ophthalmologist, and his wife, Anna, an artist.
The house, part of which was used as Dr. Ticho’s eye clinic, served as a cultural mecca of sorts, playing host to intellectuals, artists and writers throughout the Tichos’ lifetimes. Anna Ticho bequeathed the house and its contents to the city of Jerusalem.
Today the house serves as an art gallery, managed by the Israel Museum, that displays the works of Anna Ticho, her husband’s Judaica collections, a library and visiting exhibitions. Guests can soak up the authentic Jerusalem atmosphere at the house and sit down in the adjacent restaurant for a light meal and the occasional musical performance.
Ticho House is a true Jerusalem gem, an oasis of culture and quiet a mere five minutes walk from the shopping hub of Jerusalem’s city center.

It should be consider to fix it.
LessI was sorry that when I finally found my way to this lovely little museum that they were in the midst of preparing for the next installation. So not much to see but will definitely try it again sometime. The thing about finding these little sights is that it brings you into a neighborhood...
MoreI was sorry that when I finally found my way to this lovely little museum that they were in the midst of preparing for the next installation. So not much to see but will definitely try it again sometime. The thing about finding these little sights is that it brings you into a neighborhood you would not have found on your own. It's a sweet part of town.
