Via Deloroso located in the old city of Jerusalem is supposed to be the route Jesus took to his Crucifixtion. It is a processional route with 9 stations along the way, ending with the other 6 stations in the holy Sepulchre church. Currently, it is a crowded narrow street with touristic shops along the way. You see many faithful carrying the cross and marching through. Over all its a bit crowded and chaotic, however as a christian, this was very emotional and deep. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

The Via Dolorosa is a busy part of the Old City with little shops on either side. Therefore one does not necessarily have any peace and quiet to reflect on Jesus’ ordeal. However, this hustle and bustle is probably similar to what He saw at the time when he walked along the Via Dolorosa...

The Via Dolorosa is a busy part of the Old City with little shops on either side. Therefore one does not necessarily have any peace and quiet to reflect on Jesus’ ordeal. However, this hustle and bustle is probably similar to what He saw at the time when he walked along the Via Dolorosa all those years ago-lots of people going about their daily lives. Would definitely recommend this walk of around 800 meters or so.

You almost have to see this Christian, Jew, or Moslem. It runs through the Arab quarter and has a tremendous amount of Christian history. As a Jew you'll love the history, ambiance and shopping.
