The NEW Bridge Tunnel Tour: Fascinating guided tour of recently excavated part of the below ground ruins at the base of the outer walls of the First Temple. Good interactive visuals and models bring it to life.

Best $10 I ever spent

I was blown away by this tour. The western wall itself is a fascinating site rich with history, but the tunnels take it to a whole different level (no pun intended). The tour guide (his name escapes me) spoke fluent English, and was very knowledgeable. As we walked through, he pointed out remnants of the temple walls and other infrastructure from over 2000 years ago, which was remarkably well preserved. It was 1.5 hours of walking in the footsteps of history, literally. And to think that this cost me only 33 shekels (about $10)! This is a must see for anyone visiting Jerusalem.nnJust a tip: this may have changed, but when I went, the website wouldn’t let you book tickets in advance with an American debit card (not sure about credit cards). If you run into this problem, just give them a call. The person answering the phones speaks English, and was happy to help me over the phone. Had my tickets confirmed 5 minutes later.
