About Yad Ben Zvi
Established in 1969 and named after Israel’s second president, Yad Izhak Ben-Zvi is one of Israel’s leading institutes for research, education and culture. In those days, new immigrants lived in cabins and refugee camps. When Yizhak Ben Zvi became president, his wife and him demanded that the presidential residence would be located in a simple and modest cabin where the president could welcome his guests. This cabin was decorated with art work that reflects the couple’s deep connection to the land of Israel, the Bible, and the Jewish nation. Nowadays, events and conferences are hosted on a daily basis in that same cabin.
