Profound, poetic reflections of elegy are found in the work of many contemporary artists – expressions of loss and grief; poignant memories of family, friends, home, and landscape; and the absence of what was and is no longer.

Each displayed work from the Museum’s collections was created from the artist’s specific personal context yet also carries a universal and symbolic meaning. Presented together, they offer viewers a contemplative space to experience their private sorrow in these dark times.

The exhibition includes major works by Christian Boltanski, Joshua (Shuky) Borkovsky, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Anya Gallaccio, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Douglas Gordon, Talia Keinan, Jonathan Monk, Melik Ohanian, Yehudit Sasportas, Dina Shenhav and Gal Weinstein.

Must stop if you are in Jerusalem. The artifacts are amazing. Unfortunately you can't take pictures inside the museum itself. There is plenty to see and you can get a sense od Israel's history.
