The cinemas are broadcasting many more French films compering with any other country. The Israelis adore the aesthetics, the language, the humor, and the landscapes of the romantic and beloved country. The public also cherishes the talents of directors, actors, writers, and the industry as a whole.
To express and honor this love, the Jerusalem Cinematheque holds the annual French Film Festival, arranged and sponsored by the cultural department of the French Embassy, and it will be its 19th rendition in 2022.
The films that were chosen for screening during the days of the festival represent France on numerous renowned festivals as well, including the Cannes Film Festival and Venice Film Festival. There are even some nominations for the César Award -- the "French Oscar".
