The “Pianos in Jerusalem” festival will take place for the 7th time, bringing forward the multi-faceted essence of the beloved musical instrument.
The extraordinary performances and events will be held at the Jerusalem Theater on November 13-16th.
This year, the spotlight will be dedicated to one of the most influential composers, the one who contributed to the very essence of the piano’s soulfulness and emotional core. He crafted the most heart-wrenching pieces that remain essential for piano to this day and are the all-time favorite of all romantic music lovers. Of course, it’s Frederick Chopin (1810-1849). This year is marking 170 years since his death and 210 years to his birth, and that’s a great reason to dedicate the festival to his work and legacy.
Throughout the four days of the festival, most of his pieces will find their voice, performed by solo piano or accompanied by an orchestra.
Additionally, the festival will present works of current composers, jazz and world music, specifically those that were inspired by Chopin’s music.
Aside from the main program, the festival includes a wide variety of open events that will take place at the Piano Bar.
