Pre-sale for the 2022-2023 season has begun For over a decade, the Jerusalem Cinematheque has been a part of the international project of The Met – New York Opera House. On October 22nd, the Met's 2022-2023 season will open with a ten-performances premiere of the opera “Medea” by Cherubini. Like all the works this season, Medea is specially produced for HD-quality screenings and broadcasts in theaters. In Israel, it will be broadcast live and exclusively at the Jerusalem Cinematheque, as well as in dozens of other countries around the world. After her big success on the Met stage performing some of the most challenging roles, Sondra Radvanovsky stars as the legendary “witch” who will stop at nothing to get the revenge she’s seeking. The tenor Matthew Polenzani is joined in the role of Medea's husband for the Met premiere of Cherubini's rarely performed masterpiece. See the full program >>

Sondra Radvanovsky stars as the mythic sorceress who will stop at nothing in her quest for vengeance. Joining Radvanovsky in the Met-premiere production of Cherubini’s rarely performed masterpiece is tenor Matthew Polenzani as Medea’s Argonaut husband, Giasone.
