This free tour takes you to the neighborhood of Musrara which has been through many ups and downs. From a high end neighborhood for the city’s wealthy residents, it became a city on the border, taking many hard hits during the War of Independence. After that its name became connected with the big social protests of the 1970s. In the last few years Musrara has become an endearing little corner which entered the spotlight most recently again as a result of renewed social protests.

About the municipality’s free Saturday tours
All of the municipality’s free tours meet on Saturday at 10:00am in Safra Square (26 Yaffo Street), near the palm trees. They are given in English unless otherwise specified, are a medium level of difficulty and without Shabbat desecration.
The routes are subject to change.
All tours are given by licensed guides and take place in all weather conditions.
The tours are suitable for individuals and not for groups. Groups can reserve a guide through the Jerusalem Development Authority.
