For anyone interested in Israel’s history, this is highly suggested. It had a nice film with relief map that allowed you to follow the events talked about.
Ammunition Hill
Il 6 Giugno del 1967, alle 2:30 del mattino, dei paracadutisti israeliani fecero irruzione nella Ammunition Hill, uno strategico avamposto giordano tra Gerusalemme Est ed Ovest, nella direzione dell’enclave israeliana del Monte Scopus.
Incontrando una resistenza maggiore di quella prevista, soldati israeliani e giordani combatterono una dura battaglia durata circa sette ore. Al tramonto fu chiaro che la battaglia fu vinta dagli israeliani, che però pagarono l’amaro prezzo di 37 soldati uccisi durante gli scontri ravvicinati e i combattimenti corpo a corpo contro i soldati giordani.
Oggi l’Ammunition Hill è un importante luogo del ricordo per tutti i soldati israeliani caduti durante la Guerra dei Sei Giorni. La rete di trincee e bunker è ancora nel luogo originario. Un piccolo show di luci interattive su un modello in scala di Gerusalemme permette ai visitatori di apprezzare almeno il sentore di quanto difficili furono quei giorni di Giugno 1967.

In the morning hours of 6 June 1967, Israeli paratroopers fought a series of fierce close-combat battles with the equally brave and determined Jordian defenders as they worked their way along the trench positions, clearing bunker after bunker, and finally overran this base after a four-hour see-saw battle. Much of the defensive system is well preserved. On the grounds are four vehicles including a Sherman tank and a half-track. The Museum presents the stages of the Battle for Jerusalem in a surreal manner. An excellent site to visit.

Our family of 8 adults visited here before going into Jerusalem for the day, and I would highly recommend doing it in that order. It provides an informative recount of the taking over of Jerusalem by the Israelis.
