The Dormition Abbey is one of the most impressive churches in Jerusalem due to its size, beauty, and location overlooking the Old City. According to Christian tradition, the church was built on the site where Mary, the mother of Jesus, fell into her death coma, hence its name, "The Dormition" - which means slumber.

The Church of the Nativity is one of the holiest sites in Christian tradition, which holds that the church was built on top of the cave where Jesus of Nazareth was born. The church was first built under the auspices of the Roman emperor Constantine the Great in 135 AD and has been refurbished and added to numerous times since. Inside the church, you can visit the Milk Grotto, which is said to be the actual cave where Mary gave birth to Jesus.
The church is a popular tourist destination year-round and the site of a particularly festive celebration on Christmas, when masses of people from all over the world gather inside and outside the church for services that are shown on a large screen in Manger Square.
The site is also holy to Muslims, who consider Jesus one of the prophets of Allah, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Just a few minutes away from the city center of Jerusalem, the Park of Olives spreads over a beautiful landscape located in Kibbutz Ramat Rachel. Stroll along beautiful walking routes surrounded by the stunning sights of the Jerusalem Mountains, the Herodium, the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea.
One of the park's main landmarks is the environmental sculpture of the Olive Columns by artist Ran Morin. The sculpture consists of three columns, 11 meters each, with three olive trees on top of each column. Learn about the advanced irrigation technology which waters the olive trees on top of the sculpture. Get original local and independently produced olive oil. During the month of October, you will also be able to participate in Ramat Rachel's olive harvest – if you're interested, reserve your spots now!
