The Great Synagogue was established in 1982 after the adjacent Heichal Shlomo building could no longer contain the throngs of worshipers who were turning up for Sabbath services every week.</p>
<p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; font-size: 13.6364px; line-height: 20px; font-family: Arial; text-align: justify;">The Great Synagogue is dedicated to the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust, as well as Israel’s fallen in the 1948 War of Independence. Services in the main sanctuary on Shabbat and holidays are regularly led by top hazzanim (cantors) in the old Ashkenazi style.</p>
<p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px; font-size: 13.6364px; line-height: 20px; font-family: Arial; text-align: justify;">The sanctuary houses breathtaking stained-glass windows and a magnificent chandelier hanging above the ark, and the acoustics  effectively  transmit the professional choir's renditions.</p>

The Gihon Spring was the main source of water for the City of David, the original site of Jerusalem. The spring was not only used for drinking water, but also initially for irrigation of gardens in the adjacent Kidron Valley.

<h2>Egged Jerusalem</h2>
Jerusalem has an estimated population of 900,000. The residents of Jerusalem work, study, engage in leisure activities, and deserve quality public transit that would allow them to reach their desired destinations comfortably and efficiently. Therefore, it is only natural that Egged, Israel's largest bus carrier, would have a strong presence in the city and do everything in its power to ease passenger travel experience. Ever since its foundation in 1933, Egged has been active in the capital city, constantly improving services and amenities to satisfy the needs and requirements of passengers.

Egged operates bus routes that depart to/arrive from all the city's major sites and landmarks, including: the Knesset, the Old City, Mamilla Mall, Hebrew University, Mount Scopus, Malha Mall, Teddy Stadium, The First Station, and more. The busses travel along designated routes and manage to avoid heavy traffic that can sometimes be intolerable.

Located on Jaffa Street, Jerusalem's Central Bus Station serves as the city's main transport center and offers an easy commute into the city and convenient transportation to other destinations in Israel. <h2>Tel Aviv - Jerusalem Railway</h2>
Israel's public transportation got a serious boost with the new Tel Aviv-Jerusalem express railway. We are all too familiar with the frustration that accompanies Highway 1 with its traffic congestion and its dangerous and difficult slopes. However, all of this is going to end with the direct rail line that will get us from one side to the other in just about 30 minutes.

The total cost of this enormous project is estimated at 7 billion dollars and it is build to help passengers commute more comfortably on one of the country's most congested roads. The Tel-Aviv Jerusalem railway will significantly cut traffic jams on Highway 1 and on all major junctions that intersect with this difficult road from Israel's capital city to Gush Dan Metropolitan Area.

The track's length is 57 kilometers and it includes a significant amount of additions and adjustment that were made to ensure the fastest and smoothest ride possible. Seven kilometers of bridges were built for the purpose of this project, including Israel's tallest bridge (95 meters) and Israel's longest bridge (1,250 meters). In addition, 38 kilometers of tunnels were dug for the purpose of this project. All construction works were made with consideration and preservation of the landscape and the environment.
<h2>Commute Comfortably</h2>
To ensure a minimum rate of delays or any kind of faults, the construction of the rail line was made using the most advanced technologies in the world. In Jerusalem the train runs from Binyanei Hauma, at the entrance to the city. Yitzhak Navon Station (near Binyanei Hauma) is located 80 meters below the surface and it is currently one of the world's deepest train stations.

Public transit in Israel is facing a big change in the next few years. With a wide range of ongoing projects designed to create more pleasant roads, commuting around the center of Israel will become easier and more efficient. However, there's no doubt that the Tel-Aviv Jerusalem High-Speed Railway is the icing on the cake, with its ability to connect the two main cities of Israel, with the highest standards and maximum efficiency that would benefit Israel's citizens and Jerusalem's residents.
