Yudale is a tapas-style bar run by the proprietors of Machneyuda, one of, if not, Israel's best restaurants. The atmosphere is casual and energetic; the menu is exciting and always changing, and the drinks are superb, making Yudale the perfect place to start or end your night.

Khachapuri Restaurant was first opened by Tango Sharvit, a Georgian Jew who decided to leave his job as an electrician and open an authentic Georgian Bakery, serving the food he grew up on, right in the heart of the Mahane Yehuda neighborhood, one block away from the shuk itself. Khachapuri is on what has now become a restaurant row in this neighborhood.

One of the main dishes is Acharoly, a yeast dough pastry, stuffed with grated Georgian cheese, butter and fried egg. It takes 25 minutes to prepare a fresh one. In addition to the great Acharoly, which tastes nothing like anything you have ever tried, you could sample the Imruly, a cheese pastry made of yeast dough . Another pastry is, of course, the Khachapuri, which consists of a yeast dough pastry baked with oil (no margarine), stuffed with cheese, spinach, Lubuany (slightly spicy beans) or potatoes with milk.

For those who desire cooked meals, Khachapuri also offers dough pouches stuffed with cheese, cooked in boiled water – a kind of large ravioli (10 pieces). Other exclusive dishes are white cherry or whole walnuts in syrup jam; satzbela – Georgian tomato sauce; and fajika – Georgian chili.

Inspired by the need for a healthy alternative, Natural Choice Cafe has become a staple of healthy living and vegetarian/vegan in the Mahane Yehuda neighborhood thanks to its health-conscious menu and fresh, natural ingredients. Most of the dishes are either raw or baked for maximum nutritional value, made  and infused with flavor using the best nutritional cooking techniques.

Serving a variety of sandwiches, pastries and other baked goods made fresh on the premises, along with shakes, smoothies, fresh-squeezed juices, soups (seasonal), salads and more, all of the products at Natural Choice are free of any processed oils, sugars or salts, and most are also gluten-free.

Natural Choice Cafe focuses on takeaway vegetarian and vegan cuisine. It's always a good idea to ask about the daily special, but don't shy away from daily selections like antipasti, sabih, vegetable and cheese sandwiches, a variety of salads and other dishes with qunoa, rice, leafy greens, vegetables, tofu and other healthy ingredients.

The menu changes with the season, so in the winter you can go with a hot soup, sahlab and in the summer a refreshing apple slurpee.
<h3>Natural Bakery</h3>
Located right next door to the Natural Choice Cafe, the Natural Bakery sells a massive selection of nutritional pastries, breads and other baked goods all made with only natural, unprocessed ingredients (no white flour, preservatives or processed ingredients), like spelt, whole wheat, brown sugar and natural apple sweetener.

You can also get items without gluten and with or without yeast, as well as nutritional supplements that will help your body reach the proper equilibrium.

For the reasonable price of 50-70 ILS you can select your meat course of choice from the counter. All of the meat is super-fresh, changed daily according to the supply. After choosing your cut, an endless flow of appetizers will start flowing to your table: eggplants, tahini, beets, Syrian olives and white cabbage all made to perfection. You’ll also get a whopping pile of crispy French fries, fried especially for you. If you're not full by the end, guests are welcome to ask for extra salads or fries, at no extra charge. This is a place that makes you feel like home. Ask Chef Eyal for a shot of the local arak – Bazooka.</span>

Ishtaback is a restaurant near the Machane Yehuda Market that specializes in unique baked pastries with savory fillings, such as slow-cooked beef, lamb and a variety of vegetable fillings, including Indian mashed potatoes, grilled peppers, eggplant and more.

Josef, a hamburger and drinks bar, is situated in the famous Mahane Yehuda Market bordering the eclectic neighborhood of Nachlaot. Josef is the place to enjoy the combination of a juicy, tasty hamburger made from fresh shuk meat with the experience of a friendly hangout, including a youthful design, a bar and a taste of the nearby shuk.

The menu offers a diverse and rich selection of first courses, including some delicious vegetarian options such as the hot Portobello salad.

The hamburgers are made of fresh meat brought directly from the shuk and ground onsite. They are prepared at high temperatures a la plancha with special seasonings.

Take advantage of a wide range of international beers, flavored arak and a spacious sitting area by the bar.

The Ajami family, the owners, have been working with meats for over 40 years. They are also the owners of the famous <a href="http://www.itraveljerusalem.com/city/jerusalem/hatzot-steak-house/">Hatzot Steak House</a> next door. The bar restaurant with its young style impresses with its menu on the wall and energetic music. It is an attractive destination for locals and tourists visiting the Mahane Yehuda area.

There is the option to host events at Josef with sitting space for up to 45 people on the couches, chairs and at the bar. There is a projector for presentations and videos and an elaborate multimedia system.

Josef is part of the rich mosaic of culinary offerings in the shuk area, with excellent food and drink at reasonable prices.

Ima is a family-owned restaurant in the Nahlaot neighborhood that's been a Jerusalem favorite for over 30 years. 

<p style="text-align: justify;">Jacko's Street, located in the Mahane Yehuda market, is a kosher chef restaurant owned by three friends---Zakai Hodja, Rafi Revivo and Yotam Nisim. Hodja formerly worked as a chef at some of Jerusalem's leading restaurants including Canela, Angelica and Lara, and even worked with esteemed Israeli chef Shalom Kadosh. Revivo and Nisim have extensive experience in Jerusalem's nightlife scene and have also managed a number of cafes.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The three chose to open the restaurant in Mahane Yehuda out of a desire to transform the market into a lively and enjoyable area for Jerusalem tourists and locals.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Jacko's Street boasts an open kitchen allowing you to watch the chefs prepare your dish, which is part of the experience. The menu consists of a broad variety of dishes such as a salmon ceviche with cucumber and black sesame seeds with a shallot vinaigrette and a melon wasabi sauce; risotto with celery, chard, lemon and green garlic; fresh red mullet pan fried in preserved lemon, Kalamata olives, asparagus, fried eggplant and tomato salsa; and smoked duck sautéed in caramelized onions and mushrooms on top of a foccacia bread and a citrus salad.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Desserts include a ravioli filled with pastry cream and chocolate sauce with caramel, coffee and vanilla truffles and a Krembo (an Israeli marshmallow and cookie treat) on top of a kadaif pastry with a toffee and limoncello sauce.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Friday is a unique day since the restaurant is closed from Friday evening for Shabbat. You can enjoy a homey, light menu and Greek music.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The restaurant has a large bar with 12 seats and a small bar with five more places where diners can be served directly from the kitchen. There is also a gallery floor uniquely decorated with street signs and big sofas for relaxing.</p>

Morduch restaurant in Jerusalem was opened in Mahane Yehuda marketplace in 1982 and has been serving up its own brand of home-cooked Mizrahi-style (oriental) food ever since.

Hatzot Steak House (Midnight Steak House) is well known as the place where the famous “Jerusalem mixed grill” was created. This dish is a unique mix of meats (including internal organs) and a secret spice mix that gives the food its unique colors, aromas and delectable flavors not to be found anywhere else.

Founded in 1970 by two brothers, Abraham and Michael Ajami, this kosher steak house has become a cornerstone of Jerusalem’s culinary culture. Hatzot is now run by the second generation of the Ajami family and recently underwent a facelift that combines the ambiance of the Mahane Yehuda Market with a retro design while preserving the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of its earlier years.

Hatzot Steak House is a wonderful meeting point for groups touring Mahane Yehuda or the neighborhood Nachlaot. Customers will find professional service combined with an authentic local atmosphere. The restaurant also offers a private room great for bar mitzvah celebrations after the Western Wall, private dinners and other events.

The culinary scene in the Mahane Yehuda Market is getting more diverse and complex, but at Cookie Cream, there are no frills, just amazing ice cream between 2 soft, fresh-baked cookies to create a melt-in-your-mouth slice of heaven.

Cookie cream was born out of a desire to bring the quality of Italian ice cream to Jerusalem in all its glory, no corners cut, but with some Israeli flavor. And the cookies... well that's just tasty common sense.

Aside from the classics, you'll definitely want to try out the Reese's and Bamba flavors, and for those with allergies, there are vegan options and gluten-free cookies.
