This was a cute location that advertised “ best soups” we got there after 9:30 pm and it wasn’t very busy . Our server was rude and kept saying “ what else what else do you want “ I only wanted soup . My husband got the ground lamb kabob at the servers recommendation . We waited a long time while other people who came later then us got served . I had a candle out on my table that I literally asked 3 different people . 1st a female busser who Said “ok “then sat down with people she knew . Then our server who said “ok” and never brought it then finally the host working in front who just took one off another table and made me feel like I asked for something really bothersome . Our food finally came and it was nothing special . I say skip this place . The cats under the tables treated us better .

We returned from a tiring but very enjoyable trip from the dead sea ( will be reviewed in another review) and wanted a good and warm Israeli Cuisine. We found Alma around the corner of our Hotel Koresh and stood at the entrance of the restaurant and was greeted by a very friendly chap. He explained the types of food cooked. Recommended several israeli dishes. We chose his recommendation of salmon cooked kosher israeli style, a beet soup with israeli meat dumplings with slices of beets and lamb gulasch! It came with rice however rice arrived after we started eating. I think it got forgotten but no matter it came and we still enjoyed our food with the warm yummy rice. All the time the guys were very friendly and service was always with a smile. We were offered coffee and tea on the house. We are right now waiting for the offered drinks. We had an israeli wine. Unfortunately, it was too warm but drinkable. The bouquet was already flat though. However, the kind and friendly service made up for it. On the whole the food was a delicious taste experience! Would definitely recommend it, just for the friendly service. By the way, a glass also broke my feet, they apologized profusely and cleaned up the mess immediately. Perfect service. For the cube soup, salmon and gulasch we paid 291 shekels. On the high side but worth the food and service. I don’t know why the negative reviews but my husband and I find that its a pretty good for the food and service! Do try it give it a chance!

Most eating spots in the area were fast food places so we were pleased to find one that looked like it had a real cook with an outside eating area where it looked like we could get a table. Staff were friendly and, while waiting for our food, we admired their energy in setting up tables to match the size of incoming groups. Food was slow in coming so had to chase it up - matches comments from other travellers - but delicious when it arrived (goulash and lamb kebab).
