We arrived at this charming Italian restaurant beautifully located in a green quiet place downtown. Since it was before noon we asked for the breakfast, as the pastas were being prepared and would be available only later. Sign of how serious they are with freshness! The breakfast for two came with delicious focaccia immediate from the oven, "velvet tomato" which I cannot describe how light and tasty it was, pesto, cheese, choice of eggs, salad, coffee, orange juice. We repeated the focaccia, so good it was!

Expensive by Israeli standards but reasonable for Americans on vacation. My companion and I each ordered a lunch special, which came with an appetizer. My entree was a spinach lasagna, which was a tad too salty but the tomato sauce was great. The other diner Had grilled sea bream on a bed of fresh pasta in lemon butter sauce. The meal included crusty bread with a roast garlic olive oil for dipping. Attentive service. 200 NIS with tip, no alcohol. Best of all, you can take the elevator to flights down afterward and spend an hour in the Ticho House museum.

I have now had several experiences with Anna and their amazing staff and they never fail to surpass whatever high expectation you come in with. I have had single plate lunches and dinners, breakfast spreads and even hosted a party for 130 people there. The service is fabulous, they whatever is in their power to make your experience with them a positive one. The food is creative, fresh, tasty and a pleasure to behold... pretty much hits all the bases. All that, plus, if you go at the appropriate time, a chance to see one of Jerusalem's truly great artists: Anna, the restaurant is located in the top floor of the home once owned by Jerusalem artist Anna Ticho and her no less renowned ophthalmologist husband. The house is a branch of the Israel Museum which regularly holds exhibitions (often of Anna's work) in the entrance level galleries... what better apéritif and digestif could one possibly hope for.
