Located nearby to the David Citadel Hotel in the German Colony, this city center outlet of the small Caffit chain of restaurants in Jerusalem was a terrific place for my wife and I to unwind in the late afternoon after visiting innumerable sites within and around Jerusalem. Although staying at the David Citadel, we also wanted to experience a local place outside of the hotel or the nearby sprawling modern retail mall. We came to this place every day for four days, and with each ensuing visit we were greeted even more warmly by the very pleasant staff and attractive staff. The food is regional and well-prepared and the drinks were great. We even tried Arak (anise liquor which tastes exactly like liquid black licorice!). The menu is 100% kosher, but do not let that daunt you because all of the food options served here are delicious and leave you wanting to experience more. The absolute best part of being at this somewhat out of the way place is that you get to experience the local people just being themselves without any pretense of appealing only to tourists. If you allow yourself to really embrace the local culture and wonderful people who work and patronize here, your visit to the Israel will be much enriched with the camaraderie you will feel here!

We were unlucky that our reserved table was given by mistake to other customers. But they were accommodating to find us another table. We just lost one hour. The staff is very young and if you don’t mind asking three times for the same thing, then it is fine. Food was good to be fair. We would probably come back, maybe it was just one of these nights. Thank you.

Smart-looking place

In my two visits here I ate fish and chips inside and pasta tubes outside. Both were excellent. Portions are very generous. A smart restaurant in an attractive part of the city.
